Our Story

Holy Pita Navy Yard

Our Philosophy

“If you eat good, you feel good. If you feel good, you do good.”

At Holy Pita, our story begins with a passion for authentic flavor. Inspired by travels through the bustling food markets of the Middle East, we set out to bring those rich, time-honored recipes to Brooklyn. We don’t reinvent the wheel — we honor tradition. Every spice is sourced from its place of origin, and every dish is prepared using techniques passed down through generations, creating a truly world-class Mediterranean experience.

Being part of our local community matters to us. That’s why we source fresh produce from nearby markets whenever possible and proudly offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, along with local draft beer to enjoy in our outdoor backyard seating area.

We look forward to sharing with you our love, warmth, and passion for authentic Mediterranean cuisine — one fresh pita at a time.

A Beloved Brooklyn Mediterranean Spot

Since opening its doors in the heart of Fort Greene, Holy Pita has become a local favorite for fresh, authentic Mediterranean street food. Inspired by travels across the Middle East, owner and chef Josh Lapid created a place where vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and community come together.

From fluffy house-baked pita and sizzling shawarma to vegan-friendly bowls and creamy hummus made from scratch, every dish reflects our love for real, honest food. Locals and visitors alike cherish Holy Pita’s welcoming vibe — a true Brooklyn gem where good food and good energy always meet.
