In the News: Philly Restaurants Offer City Staffers Tasty Incentives Amid Return-to-Work Mandate

Philadelphia’s Center City restaurants are rolling out exclusive discounts and giveaways to welcome city staffers back to the office following the full-time return-to-work mandate. These incentives aim to revitalize the local lunch scene, which has faced a significant sales dip since the shift to remote work in 2020.

As the sun comes up across the city skyline on Monday morning,  many Philadelphia city staffers that spent the last 4 years working from home are returning to their desks full-time as the mayor’s report-to-work mandate takes effect.

Reporting a 20 to 40% dip in lunch sales since 2020, the move comes as a pleasant surprise to Center City restaurants that have struggled to stay afloat thanks to a smaller city workforce.

To ease the transition, and show these once loyal 9-to-5 customers their appreciation, many local restaurants are welcoming office workers back to town with incentives, discounts, and giveaways.

Here’s a list of restaurant offerings as the City begins to buzz.
